From Attorney to CEO: Building a Business Beyond Yourself with Justin Tash

What does it take to stop working only in your business and start building a business that can grow beyond you?

In this episode of the Phoenix Prosperity Podcast with Tim Fergestad, Tim sits down with Justin Tash, co-founder of BTL Family Law and creator of Growth Pilot OS.

Justin and his partners started BTL Family Law with four people, a co-working space, $10,000, and a credit card. Over the years, they grew the firm into a seven-figure family law practice serving the Phoenix metro area.

But that growth required Justin to make an important change. He realized that whenever his legal caseload became busy, the growth of the firm slowed down. Eventually, he stopped taking clients and shifted his focus to growing and developing the business. As Justin puts it, he went from being an attorney who owned a law firm to a CEO who happened to be an attorney.

Tim and Justin discuss why consistency often matters more than chasing the newest marketing idea. Justin explains how small daily actions can compound over time and why entrepreneurs need to stay focused on what is already working.

They also talk about hiring, culture, delegation, and systems. Justin shares why professional service businesses need systems that remove frustration without taking away the human relationships that clients value.

Justin also introduces Growth Pilot OS, a web-based platform he created for early-stage entrepreneurs and solopreneurs. Justin also shares one of the biggest lessons he would take back to the beginning of his entrepreneurial journey: know exactly who you want to serve and stay focused on that customer.
